Our Town arose from the findings of the Health Needs and Priorities in South Australia report commissioned by the Fay Fuller Foundation in 2017. This research evidenced that mental health challenges were more prevalent in rural and remote areas, and that people within those communities were less likely than their metropolitan counterparts to seek help.

The Initiative then went live in 2019 with over 30 South Australian communities applying to be selected for the shortlist. Cummins was selected in 2019 as one of the final 6 towns to more forwards. To learn more about the Our Town Initiative click below.

Our Town Cummins has listened closely to the community and learned a lot about what affects mental wellbeing here. With this knowledge, we've pinpointed three important areas where we can make a real difference.
